What is an Official Community Plan (OCP)?
• A local government’s statement of long-term vision for the future.
• Broad statements of community goals and objectives.
• Broad policies to achieve goals, objectives and community vision.
• Guides planning and land use management and decision-making in the community.
• An OCP is NOT a detailed implementation plan or a static unchanging document.
The image below illustrates the OCP review process timeline. The fall 2009 segments are complete and the results from the community-based data collection have been instrumental in moving towards the Phase 2 community-wide discussions. As we move through the review, information will be available on this site for all the elements below. For a more detailed workplan overview, follow this link (workplan overview).
